Jenny and Adam's Northamptonshire English Wedding

Jenny and Adam got married at The Guildhall, Northampton which is a beautiful old building dating back to the 1800’s. Jenny and Adam live in Northampton and kept their wedding local to home as a lot of their family live there and have grown up there. They had a summer wedding and luckily the covid lockdowns were in the past but there were still some restrictions in place. They’re so lucky to have lots of family close to home, especially in these times, small intimate weddings are even more special.

Getting Ready

Jenny, the bride got ready with her bridesmaids at home. Whilst Adam went to stay at Whittlebury Hall the night before with his best man, his Dad, to get ready.

Jenny chose this beautiful A-line Tea Length Wedding Dress. I myself (Jade) is a massive fan of these as I think they can often get overlooked but they have this beautiful classic vintage feel especially with the lace detail on Jenny’s as well. She paired this with shoes also with lace detail and pearls. For the bridesmaid dresses she went for a beautiful deep burgundy which was a colour theme through out the wedding. Jenny had a burgundy silk bow around her dress, deep red roses in her bouquet and even the car matched the colour theme!

Pets!

If there are pets around Raj and I will definitely photograph them. If we have the time during the morning you can expect a mini pet photoshoot haha! Here’s Alfie the cat who we had to keep away from the flowers but was very intrigued by the petti-coat!

From a photographers perspective something I highly recommend is thinking through what you wear for the getting ready photos. These beautiful robes look lovely! It’s just a little detail that is easily forgotten.

I love a swishy dress photo! The bride is all ready to head to the ceremony.

Jenny and her Dad were ready to head to the venue in the Morris Minor that matched the colour theme perfectly!

Groom and Best Man at Whittlebury Hall

The Groom getting ready with his best mad who was his Dad. Adam always knew his Dad would be his best man. Who better to choose than your Dad who’s always got your back!

Adam had special engraved cuff links with their names and wedding date.

Nothing like a quick game of imaginary golf when you haven’t got time for a proper game! Got a wedding to get too!

Like Father like son… Raj didn’t tell them to pose like this. They just sat in exactly the same way!

Ceremony

The Guildhall, Northampton

Jenny certainly has an eye for detail. Her classic classy colour palette matches the building itself as well! The guildhall is such an old building so the architecture and windows look stunning.

The long nervous exciting wait before the groom see’s his wife to be!

The mums… the mums may not have a role such as walking the bride down the aisle but they are most important being there supporting everyone on the day. Here are both Adam and Jenny’s mums being the all important witnesses to their marriage and special moment. Where they are always, right by their sides.

Kids at weddings always add a delightful unexpected tale to the day! Adams nephew was supposed to be ring bearer but he fell asleep on the job! It was so cute and everyone found it funny, it was a a lovely unexpected moment that I’m sure he’s going to hear all about when he grows up! Luckily Best Man aka Dad stepped up with the rings instead.

Stepping out for the first time as husband and wife!

Reception and Cake Cutting

Jenny and Adam had their wedding reception at The Wheatsheaf Pub, Dallington, Northampton which is a very beautiful olde worlde thatched English pub serving traditional food. Again their cream and burgundy colour scheme looked right at home in the beautiful pub with it’s stone walls and exposed beams.

Like all pandemic era weddings there’s a little bit more to think about such as serving individual cup cakes, which is a really cute touch! Also this was when we were all still wearing masks indoors as well, but everyone was just delighted to be able to get together to celebrate!

Congratulations Jenny and Adam!
