Jewish Weddings
2025 has been the year of Jewish wedding ceremony’s for us and it started in a really special way. Raj’s best friend got married! The groom is British and the Bride is American but they have been living in many different countries all over the world. They chose Kingston Estate in Devon, UK as their wedding venue and they asked Raj to build their Huppah frame. Everyone attending the wedding sent a small square of fabric to be lovingly hand sewn by the groom’s Grandma to create the fabric canopy for them to stand under for the ceremony. It was all a community effort and everyone’s love and personal touches were woven into it and ultimately into their story. The Huppah symbolises the new home the couple will build together, the open sides invite their loved ones in to build a future together.
Having read the book The Jewish Wedding Now by Anita Diamant it has given us an insight into more updated traditions and ideas that are inclusive for all which we can see coming through in these Jewish Weddings we have captured.
We also photographed on black and white film to create some artistic in the moment photos.
This is a new addition in the way we work. We offer an extra film options (alongside digital) for those wanting a different aesthetic. PLease let us know if you’d like to hear more about film photography options.
We also had the opportunity to capture the wedding for two brides who celebrated with two ceremonies. One garden wedding ceremony and also a traditional Jewish ceremony in a magical woodland setting with flower fairies walking the Bride’s down the aisle. This was alongside Rosemary Depres Photography.
Some of our couples prefer to keep their photos private, so we only have a small selection of photo to share with you here.
