A Winter Wedding at The Green Liskeard, Cornwall
Charlie and Sam had a small, intimate wedding at The Green Liskeard, Cornwall. This countryside barn wedding venue has a beautiful house and cottages, allowing everyone to stay together the night before and after. This is always a lovely touch as it means you get to spend more time with everyone and it extends your day into what feels like a mini holiday.
The morning of your big day.
It was a beautiful, sunny, crisp winter morning. The Green, Liskeard, had its very own Preen on the Green Shepards’s hut for getting ready in the morning, which is a big bonus at a venue. The team for this morning was Gem Ryder on make up/ hair and Bridal Hair by Rhian on hair.
The morning started with two bridesmaids getting ready but the little shephards hut quickly filled with more family and there was lots of laughter and sillyness.
One of the bridesmaids stepped in to play hairdresser’s with her niece, then the real hairdresser got her turn and created this amazing design!

The Grooms Morning…
The grooms always have a lot more time on their hands! The groom’s side went for a lovely morning stroll through the woods and gardens.
Dad/Grandad had news that there was a little rain but…
There was a rainbow!
Don’t panic! The men new what was needed & grabbed the handbags so the ladies could hold their dresses & umbrellas!
The Ceremony
The Rings
The Bride’s son had the honour of being ring bearer. It’s always wonderful when childen are at the wedding as it adds to those special moments as well as many funny moments!
Mulled Cider, Hot Choc and Canepes

Dinner and Cake
Charlie and Sam chose a sit-down meal with plenty of wine, and afterwards, there was a mulled cider and hot chocolate station. You could make your own hot chocolates with your choice of sweets, syrups/ sauces and of course, whippy cream and marshmallows! A fantastic idea for a winter wedding.
Cake Cutting
The cake was made by the groom’s brother. It’s always wonderful when family members have the skill to add something to the wedding day and it creates a personal touch.
Sunset is early for a December winter wedding so by this point the sun had gone down and everyone was ready for the DJ. The children had already been enjoying the glow sticks as you can see and making some for mum…
Dancefloor
Not everyone has a first dance anymore. You might not be into dancing or it might feel too formal but the good news is that couples are finding their own way to do things so you don’t have to include anything that’s not you. However, we often find they may say they’re not doing a first dance but something always happens anywhere in one way or another. This couple ended up having a family dance with the children together.
Wait a minute…. who’s that on the DJ Decks?!
There’s a first time for everything! This is the first time we’ve ever seen this but the kids loved it! The DJ taught the kids how to DJ and let them use the microphone. This was such a crowd pleaser!
A candid moment
A lovely natural moment between the Bride and her Aunt as they watch the children having fun. The Bride has managed to sit down to take it all in. Every couple will tell you that your wedding day goes so fast so always take the opportunity to have a quiet moment where you can. Soak it in as much as possible.
But as soon as you sit down to enjoy your drink something else in bound to happen….
An Improptu Ceilidh
There’s always a fmaily member that’s been to a Ceilidh so someone started an improptu Ceilidh! The charm of a Ceilidh is that they are always a chaotic whirlwind of fun!
Caricarturist!
They hired Cornwall Caricaturist to capture everyone and it gives guests something to take away with them to remember your day. It was great fun to watch and see the outcome!
An Evening Walk to the Rustic Barn
Taking a moment as newlyweds.
At some point in your evening we take your for some couples portraits. This actually give’s you both a good excuse to get some quiet time away from everyone for a moment to take it all in. Apart from this time we had a sneaky follower… the brides daughter joined in and it was well worth it!
